According to that account, planning for opd began in December 2019. It dates registration at Amtsgericht Charlottenburg to 15 March 2020. The early development therefore coincided with the first phase of the coronavirus pandemic.
The article described opd as a platform for identifying members’ views and bringing them into society. Organisational work and individual board members’ personal political opinions were to remain distinct from positions established through surveys.
Its guiding statement was that opd is no more, but no less, than the voices of its members. The contemporary statement that charitable status had been applied for is part of that history; it is not proof of a current tax status.
What this means today
The rebuilt website retains the idea of organising participation transparently. The current trial is free. Today’s information pages, rather than old planning dates, describe membership, surveys and TestCoins.
